Message from the Representative
From the representative
Soutaro's father, Keiichi Nakazawa and I have been good friends since our student
years.
He married Namie, and last year Soutaro was born between the happy
couple. Their life seemed to be full of happiness. One day in July this year,
I received a phone call from Keiichiro. Unlike his usual self, he sounded
deeply distressed.
"Soutaro's condition is serious, and his life is in danger",
he told me.
Soutaro pulled through, and to my relief, I was told that he was recovering
day by day. But a few days later, Keiichiro had shocking news for me.
This is what he told me: Even if Soutaro's heart continues to be treated,
he would only be able to live for 6 months to 1 year...
The only way to save Soutaro is for him to receive heart transplantation
overseas...
As I gathered information on transplantation surgeries performed
overseas, I found out that it would require a huge amount of money.
It would be impossible for an individual to pay such an immense amount.
Out of sheer desire to save Soutaro's life, I contemplated on what I could do. My answer was to organize the "Life Saving Team for Sou-chan" with the friends of Sou-chan's parents and volunteers, and to give all the support necessary for the transplantation.
Even as I write this, Soutaro is in a critical condition and the
transplantation surgery needs to be performed at the earliest possible date.
I sincerely hope that Soutaro's heart transplantation will succeed, and that
he would be able to return to Japan in a health condition. I kindly ask for
your understanding and support.
During the fund-raising, we will be asking for support not only from our families, relatives and close friends, but also from people we have not yet met. It pains me to ask for support, but it is out of sheer desire to "save Soutaro's life." Thank you so much for your kind support.
